What is a common cause of printing problems?
Your printer cable could be loose or defective. Try another cable of a different brand, with an option to return it to the store, if it does not fix your problem. Cables vary in quality and materials. Windows uses more pins/wires in the cable than other applications, so you can have a defective cable that only works for certain printing applications.
Most recent inkjet and laser printers typically require a new IEEE-1284 compliant printer cable, even if you still hear your printer "click" during a power-on boot of the attached computer.
