Netfinity 7000 M10 - Incorrect movement of SMU'S menu selection bar during Telnet

Applicable to: World-Wide

Source: RETAIN tip H164979

Abstract: INCORRECT MOVEMENT OF SMU'S MENU SELECTION BAR DURING TELNET

Incorrect movement of menu selection bar on the System Management Utility Remote Video Screen when connected to a Netfinity 7000 M10 through a Telnet session.

SYMPTOM:
Telnet to a Netfinity 7000 M10 server and connect to the System Management Utility. Start a remote video session and monitor remote POST. Through the client, enter the system set-up (F1 Key) of the host machine. Menu bar positioning between host and the client will be identical when scrolling down on the set-up menu, but when scrolling up on the remote video set-up menu, the menu bar will not move correctly on host although it moves correctly on client.

WORKAROUND:
Changing the terminal emulation on the Telnet browser may resolve this. As another solution, the user may use a web browser instead of a Telnet browser.
