IBM WorkPad - Frequent Low Battery Warnings
Applicable to: United States
Frequent Low-Battery Warnings
Q: My WorkPad is displaying frequent warnings that my battery level is low.
A: Battery warnings will start to appear when your battery level reaches 2.1 volts.
WorkPad Shuts Down without Prior Low-Battery Warning
Q: My WorkPad shuts down without displaying any warning messages about the batteries being low beforehand.
A: Some brands of batteries experience drastic voltage drops when the WorkPad devices first powers up or produces a high spike of current. This voltage drop can trigger a "low-voltage interrupt" that turns off the WorkPad device. Changing the brand of batteries you are using with your WorkPad may eliminate this problem.
