The phone line coming from the wall-jack should plug directly into the socket with the picture shown above.
If you choose to have a hand set function through the computer, it should be plugged into the socket with the picture shown above.

The 7 inch wire coming from the back of the splitter should be plugged directly into the Mwave phone-jack.
The correct dongle or splitter wire for the Mwave is about 7 inches long. If there are no small pictures of a telephone and a phone-jack socket on the end of the phone-jack socket of the dongle, you have an incorrect dongle. It should be replaced with the correct type of dongle. Call the IBM PC Helpcenter in your specific geography if you need further information on replacement .
