IBM PS/2 - Black spot/reversed image in 76i/77i

Applicable to: World-Wide

Symptom:
While running OS/2 characters appear blacked out or look like the image has been reversed.

Problem Isolation Guidance:
The characters "Bt" appear beside component position U18. Component U18 is located on the system board close to the video port.

Fix:
If "Bt" is found in position U18 near the video port on the system board for 9576/9577 xUx, xNx, or xTx systems, request APAR PJ15241 from your local Software Support Centre.
In the UK telephone 061-905-6080 North or 0256-818888 South.
In the US, telephone 1-800-992-4777.
This APAR provides two files, a READ.ME file and a SVGA.EXE file. Instructions for installation are included in the READ.ME file. No parts should be replaced in an attempt to fix this problem.
If APAR PJ15241 does not correct the problem, the servicer should use problem determination procedures to isolate the defect.
