TP 760 - With An 800x600 At 72Hz External Monitor
Applicable to: World-Wide
Service Information:
IBM G and P series monitors will display what refresh rate you are running when you adjust the contrast and brightness on the display. On the ThinkPad760, these monitors will not go to 72 Hz at 800x600 unless you disable DDC on the monitor.(DDC stands for Display Data Channel)
On the P50, P70 and P200 the customer needs a dongle which fits on the monitor cable. The dongle does not come with the monitor, but can be sent to the customer free of charge through the parts exchange process. (It's a scrap part and every customer is entitled to one free dongle per monitor.) The FRU is 96G2693.
The P201 monitor has a switch on the monitor cable to disable DDC.
The G series monitors allow the user to disable DDC through the front panel on the monitor. Please have the customer consult their Monitor Users Manual for the key combination. (Its different for every G series monitor).
