Top Ten Multimedia Questions and Answers:
1. VERTICAL SYNC ERRORS when opening DVP capture.
a. Make sure the cable from the camera/VCR is plugged into the video in port.
b. Check to see that video in is enabled in features.
2. Error, CAPTURE DEVICE IS NOT DETECTED when opening DVP.
a. Reinstall video capture overlay drivers.
b. Make sure that the system is running 800x600x16 bit high color.
c. Check for correct Cyber video drivers installed (not trident SVGA).
3. Error IBMMPEG32.DLL when opening media player.
a. Reinstall MPEG features diskette.
b. Check in the c:\windows\system directory for files starting with draw, if there present remove them.
4. DVP does not save my .BMP files at a 640x480 resolution.
a. Go to options then video format and choose 640x480.
5. CDI MOVIE will not play and another one does.
a. Not all CDI movies are compatible with ThinkPad most CDI movies that have a green label on the case are compatible.
6. APPLE QUICKTIME skips or performs badly on MWAVE system.
a. APPLE QUICKTIME version 3.0 when released is supposed to fix the problem.
7. MPEG SAMPLER the audio works but the screen is green.
a. Check for the correct Cyber video drivers installed.
b. Check for correct resolution and color depth 800x600x16 high color
8. Error, CAPTURE DEVICE NOT DETECTED on 755CD or 760CD.
a. Check for the V7320 drivers loading in the config.sys.
b. V7320 drivers cannot load high.
9. Video in does not stay enabled in TP setup on a 755CD.
a. Customer needs the older utility files from web (UTTP1311.DSK).
10. Audio does not work on an ess1688 after installing DirectX
a. Remove the ESS driver from the device manager (don't reboot) then build the ESS audio diskette from diskette factory, reinstall the driver through add new hardware. now reboot.
