Question:
Does the tape drive include a SCSI cable or terminator?
Answer:
The 20/40GB 8mm SCSI Tape Drive is shipped without a SCSI cable or terminator. The tape drive is a Fast/Wide SCSI device. In most instances, a Fast/Wide SCSI adapter with a cable will be provided with the adapter. Termination is usually handled by a hard disk drive at the end of the SCSI channel. If a cable and terminator for a PC SERVER 704 is required, the cable must be ordered as part number 60H7826, or 70G9859. An active in-line terminator is also required and must be ordered as Part Number 92F0322.
Question:
Are any parts required to install the tape drive into a 3510 enclosure?
Answer:
The 20/40GB 8mm SCSI Tape Drive does not ship with hardware required to mount the drive into a 3510 enclosure. The 3510 enclosure must support a Fast/Wide device. If the enclosure supports narrow devices, a Fast/Wide conversion kit is required as Part Number 32G3920. A rail kit as Part Number 85F0009 is required to install the tape drive into the 3510 enclosure. An external active terminator will also be required, and is available as Part Number 32G3918.
