TP General - Cannot print in Windows 95

SYMPTOM:
Users may experience some problems printing in Windows 95 using ThinkPad's.
The symptoms are as follows :
1. System will print in dos mode (command prompt) but not in win95 normal mode.
2. User gets "error writing to lpt port" error messages.
SOLUTION
Change a setting under the printer properties.
Click Details, Then Port settings. Clear the check mark by "Check Port Status" THEN retry the printer. The printer should now be operational.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Parallel cables longer than 6 feet in length have also been known to cause printing problems. Try using a shorter cable.
