The 2155-E76 was announced October, 1992. It is the only PS/1 that had an OS/2 preload. No French model was released. The 2155-G54 was announced Feb., 1993. It had IBM DOS 5.0 and MS-Windows 3.1 preloaded.

Banked Memory
1. The system has two banks of SIMM sockets and each bank holds four SIMMs. The possible values for each bank are 1M, or 4M for a maximum total of 32M.
2. Some of the 30-pin SIMMs on the market are taller than others and may interfere with the lower card slot. The SIMM must not touch the lower adapter card.
3. No POST error code will be displayed when a SIMM of a wrong value is installed. If SIMMs are installed in groups of 3 or less a POST error code of 201 will appear.
4. Two banks of four sockets to allow max of 32MB
5. Supported SIMMs: 1MB, 4MB
6. Must be installed in groups of 4 identical SIMMs

Creating Utility Diskettes.
Note: You will need two 2MB (high density) disks, if the service pack is installed you will need three HD disks.
1. Open the Welcome Folder
2. Select Configuration Utilities
3. Double-click on 'Create Utility Disks'
4. Follow the prompts

Recreating the Welcome Folder.
To rebuild a lost Welcome Folder:

1. Open the Templates Folder
2. Drag and drop a Folder to the Desktop
3. Rename it as the Welcome Folder

Installing Dual Boot.
DBPREP is a utility which allows DOS to be installed as a dualboot function on top of OS/2; and recover to OS/2 in case something goes wrong during the DOS Install. CAUTION: The DBPREP utility should only be used if OS/2 is already installed on the C drive.
1. Download DBPREP.ZIP from the Internet at ftp://ftp.infania.net/pccbbs/os2_util/dbprep.zip and copy DBPREP.COM to the OS/2 directory
2. Copy your OS/2 CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files to a diskette for safe keeping
3. Open an OS/2 Window or Full Screen session and type ?dbprep /prep? at the prompt
4. Shutdown OS/2 and re-boot from A: with the DOS install diskette
5. Install DOS WARNING!!! Do not select any options that ask you to update DOS files on the fixed disk, or, that ask you to backup existing system. If you have Boot Manager installed, DOS may change the C partition to startable, you will need to run FDISK under OS/2 to change this to bootable.
6. Once DOS is installed, you can boot up with OS/2 by executing the command c:\os2\boot /os2 or you can boot to DOS by executing the command
c:\os2\boot /dos
7. If any problems are encountered boot with DOS and execute c:\os2\dbprep /recover. This will restore the original OS/2 system.

Installing a Printer Driver.
1. Double-click on the OS/2 System Icon
2. Double-click on the Templates Icon
3. Drag a Printer Template onto the Desktop
4. Click on Install New Printer button
5. If the printer driver was shipped with OS/2, click on Printer driver shipped with OS/2 otherwise, click on Other OS/2 printer driver
6. Click on the desired printer
7. Click on the Install button

The printer object should appear on the DeskTop. To set the new printer as the default:

1. Click once on the object with the RMB
2. Click on arrow beside Set Default
3. Click on Printer Name

Note: If the new printer does not appear on the printer list when you click on Set Default, Shutdown and re-boot; the new printer should appear in Set Default list.

Installing a Windows Printer Driver.
The preloaded printer drivers for WINOS2 are stored in the directory C:\OS2\INSTALL\PRTDRVS\PMDD_x where 'x' is the number to the corresponding Windows disk.

When installing a driver through WINOS2, if Windows asks you to insert i.e. printer disk 4, enter the following: C:\OS2\INSTALL\PRTDRVS\PMDD_4

SVGA Display Modes.
If the Service Pack is NOT installed:
Note: SVGA is only supported in OS/2 Workplace, not WIN/OS2.
1. Open the Welcome Folder
2. Select Configuration Tools
3. Select Configure
4. Select Primary Display
5. Select Other
6. Click on 'OK'
7. Click on 'OK'
8. Change Source Directory to C:\display
9. Select Install
10. Select Exit
11. Close the Welcome Folder
12. Shutdown
13. CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot

If the Service Pack IS installed:
1. Open the Welcome Folder
2. Select Configuration Tools
3. Select Configure
4. Select Primary Display
5. Select Primary Display SVGA
6. Select Tseng SVGA
7. Click on 'OK'
8. Select desired resolution
9. Select Install
10. Insert ServicePak Display Diskette 1
11. Insert ServicePak Display Diskette 2
12. Click on 'Cancel'
13. If a message is received about Bundle Missing click on 'OK'
14. Close the Welcome Folder
15. Shutdown
16. CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot
