Aptiva - Disabling Rapid Resume

How do I disable Rapid Resume on my Aptiva?

Answer:
To disable Rapid Resume, follow these steps.

1.) Power the system off.

2.) Turn on the system, and press [F1] when you see the square box in the upper right corner of the screen. (just before the POST beep.) This will bring you to the Configuration Utility with a Main Menu with only 2 selections.

3.) Press the Ctrl, Alt, and Del Keys, all at the system time to reboot your system, and .press [F1] when you see the square box in the upper right corner of the screen. (just before the POST beep.) This will bring you to the Configuration Utility with a Main Menu with all of the selections.

4.) With your arrow key, move down to Rapid Resume and press [ENTER].

5.) Tab down to Rapid Resume and toggle to read DISABLED. (toggle by hitting the left or right arrow keys.)

6.) Hit ESC twice, and answer YES to save settings and reboot. Rapid Resume should now be disabled.
