Aptiva - Insufficient Memory Error message booting from Diagnostics CD
Applicable to: World-Wide
Problem:
Error message 'Insufficient memory' is received when using the packaged diagnostic software.
Reason:
Customer has compressed and/or uncompressed the hard drive. Even if the user un-installs the disk compression software the device driver will remain in the root directory of the hard drive (and hidden.) It will load automatically when the computer boots -regardless to which drive the computer is booted from.
Solution:
The user needs to press F8 and do a step by step confirmation. He should say no to drivespace. The diagnostics should run. Future releases of the diagnostic software will avoid the need to hit F8.
