Aptiva - 999 messages or high numbers of zero length messages
in Communication Center
Applicable to: United States
Users of computers preloaded with the Aptiva Communication Center may occasionally experience an abnormally large number of zero-length messages in their Aptiva Phone Mailbox. This occurs as a result of the outgoing message having a duration of less than 20 seconds. The zero length messages frequently happens when someone calls your telephone but does not leave a message. The answering machine will cycle until the general mailbox is full.
This problem can be prevented from reoccurring by recreating your outgoing message with a duration of at least 20 seconds, installing the latest Mwave drivers, and updating the Aptiva Communications Center files. Updated files can be obtained from the IBM BBS (ACCOS2 etc. for OS/2 and ACCWIN for Windows 95).
