Aptiva - VCPI Allocate Block Error when running "LTTSR.EXE"
Applicable to: World-Wide
Situation :
Unable to load LTTSR.EXE in Windows 95 DOS mode. Unit locks up completely as soon as [Enter] is pressed after entering LTTSR.EXE
Solution:
LTTSR.EXE requires EMM386.EXE to be loaded in order to load properly. Virtual Control Program Interface applications
will not run if EMS is not provided.
Start -> Programs -> MS-DOS Mode -> Exit to DOS Mode with EMS and XMS Support
This will restart Windows 95 in DOS mode and provide EMS memory.
C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS\LTTSR.EXE will now load successfully.
A shortcut to rebooting in dos with modem support is the start the C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS\MODEM.PIF
