Mechwarrior 2: Fatal Error
MW2.EXE - fatal error#50: SYSERR_VFXDRIVER
Error occurred finding or loading VFX driver (DLL):
Answer:
This error can happen if you have the CoSession drivers loaded in memory when you try to play Mech Warrior 2 in
Windows 95. To correct this error we need to unload these CoSession drivers. Follow the steps below:
1. Click on "START", select "PROGRAMS" and choose "IBM OnLine HouseCall".
2. It should then start the CoSession program. You will see two extra icons on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. One called CoSession Host, the other called IBM OnLine House Call. This indicates the program is running. Now, click on "START" and choose "SHUTDOWN ".
3. Select "RESTART THE COMPUTER" and choose "YES".
4. A message dialog box will appear stating that CoSession is still running. Choose "YES" to shut it down.
5. The computer will then reboot. Once Windows 95 is back, retry Mech Warrior 2 and the game should work.
