Peripheral-Device-Related Symptoms

Symptom / Error

FRU / Action in Sequence

The external monitor does not work correctly.

Connect the external monitor to another PC. If the monitor works fine, replace the system board. If not, replace the external monitor.

Printer problems.

1. Run printer self-test.
2. Run parallel port wrap test.
3. System board

Serial or parallel port device problems.

1. Run serial/parallel port wrap test.

Power-Related Symptoms

Symptom / Error

FRU / Action in Sequence

Power shuts down during operation.

1. Go to Power Systems Checkout in the HMM.
2. Battery pack
3. Remove the battery pack and let it cool for
2 hours.
4. System board
5. Check the power outlet.

The system does not power off.
