Aptiva - 2158/2163/2164 Considerations - Rapid Access Keyboard prompts for the Applications CD

Description:
Rapid Access keyboard asks you to insert Applications CD(it is already inserted)

Models affected:
2158, 2163, and 2164

How to duplicate:
When you uninstall Rapid Access keyboard and then try to reinstall it using Aptiva Installer, Aptiva Installer will ask you to "Insert the 'Aptiva Applications' CD to proceed". (The App CD was already in). If you press Retry, it will then install.

Root cause:

This is caused because Rapid Access Keyboard is SmartInstall. The Aptiva Installer registry entries are added by Smart Install, and they are common for V66 and V72. The program looks for J62USxxU CD first, and when it does not find it puts up a message. When you click OK to the message, it will check for both J60USxxU and J62USxxU CD and will work correctly. This is a limitation of having this component SmartInstall

Workaround:
When message to insert CD appears, click retry.
