Aptiva - How to restore the Paintbrush icon
Applicable to: World-Wide
If the Paintbrush icon is accidentally removed from the Microsoft Windows environment, it can be restored with the following steps:
1. Highlight the "Windows Software" or "Accessories" group by clicking the mouse anywhere within that group.
2. Open the "File" menu and select "New...".
3. Choose "OK" (with "Program Item" selected).
4. Type: PAINTBRUSH in the "Description" field and press the Tab key.
5. Type: C:\WINDOWS\PBRUSH.EXE" in the "Command Line:" field.
6. Click on "OK".
The Paintbrush icon will appear in the open group window.
Note: The actual program files for Paintbrush must still be present for this procedure to work.
