IdeaScan Color Flatbed Scanner - Using the scanner with other Image-Editing or OCR applications

The Ideascan Color Flatbed Scanner is compatbile with other image-editing applications that support the TWAIN interface. Refer to the user's manual provided with the image-editing application or contact the manufacturer of the applicaiton to determine if TWAIN compliant. Other imaging applications can be installed concurrently with PhotoStudio; however, the Preview and Scan Image buttons are linked only to PhotoStudio. If you wish to remove PhotoStudio from your system and only required the installation of the drivers for use with another application, complete the steps outlined below. Important Note: The scanner is not supported with any Image-Editing or OCR applications that were NOT packaged with the scanner.

Follow the process below:

1. Uninstall "PhotoStudio & IBM Scanner" from the Add/Remove programs folder.
2. Insert the IBM Color Flatbed Scanner Installation CD. If autostart is enabled cancel the install program.
3. Click Start, Run, type in x:\Drivers\Setup.exe (where x: is the drive letter for the CD-Rom drive on the system. This will launch the driver ONLY installation program.
4. Select the language and click OK.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation of only the scanner drivers or Double click on My Computer.
6. Right click on the CD-Rom drive icon and click on Open.
7. Double click on the Drivers folder.
8. Double click on the Setup.exe program.
9. This will launch the driver ONLY installation program.
10. Select the language and click OK.
11. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation of only the scanner drivers.
