Installing audio support software
1. Insert the audio support software diskette into the diskette drive.
2. Exit out of Windows to a DOS prompt, and type A: and press enter.
3. Type INSTALL and press enter.
4. A message will appear asking if you want it to make a temporary directory and start copying files. Hit Y for yes.
5. You will be prompted if you want to install the OPL3-SAx Board. Click on Yes.
6. It will then ask you where you want to install the drivers. Click on OK to accept the default.
7. It will tell you that it made a backup of your autoexec.bat file. Click on OK to continue.
8. You will be asked if Microsoft Windows is installed on your computer. Click Yes to continue.
9. It will then ask you which directory Windows is installed. Verify that the correct directory is shown and click OK to continue.
10. You will be asked if you want to replace the MIDI mapper. Click Yes.
11. A screen will appear showing you the default settings for your audio device. You may want to note the Base I/O address, IRQ, and DMA channel for the Sound Blaster for future reference. Double-click on OK at the bottom of the screen.
12. You will be asked if you want to open this setup window in the boot sequence. Press N for no.
13. It will tell you that the setup is complete. Click on OK.
14. You will be asked if you want to delete the temporary directory and all its files. Press Y for yes and hit enter.
15. When you return to a DOS prompt, remove the diskette from the drive and restart the computer. |
