TP 380XD,385XD,560X,770 - Adaptec 1480 SCSI adapter not being recognized properly

SYMPTOM:
The Adaptec 1480 SCSI adapter is not recognized correctly on the ThinkPad 380XD, 385XD, 560X or ThinkPad 770
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad 380XD, 385XD, 560X or ThinkPad 770 running Windows 95 and the Adaptec 1480 SCSI Adapter.
SOLUTION:
Follow the instructions below to allow the Adaptec 1480 PCMCIA SCSI Adapter to be properly recognized by your computer:
1.) Go to Device Manager (right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and click on Properties)
2.) Click on the + sign to the right of System Devices.
3.) Select PCI bus.
4.) On the Settings tab select Use BIOS.
5.) Both Items on the IRQ Steering tab should be checked.
6.) Enable Get IRQ table from PCIBIOS 2.1 call (Use IRQ steering is enabled by default)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Initializing the system will not change these settings.
