Abstract: ALERT TIME NOT REPORTED CORRECTLY ON NETFINITY MANAGER

SYMPTOM:
When an IBM Netfinity server has Netfinity Manager installed and running and is connected to an IBM Netfinity server with Netfinity Manager as a client, alerts from the client server's Netfinity Advanced System Management will have different time stamp from when the event occurred.

Netfinity manager is correcting for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and Netfinity Advanced System Management clock was set for local time. The time difference will be from the client server's local time to GMT.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
- The system is any of the following IBM servers:

a Netfinity 7000-M10 server, Type 8680, any model.
a Netfinity 5500-M10 server, Type 8661, any model.
a Netfinity 5500 server, Type 8660, any model.
a Netfinity 5000 server, Type 8659, any model.

- The system is configured with Netfinity Manager.

- The system displays the symptom described.

FIX:
To correct this problem set the Netfinity Advanced System Management clock for GMT; the time stamps will be correct.
