Color Flatbed Scanner - Doubled images appearing in Xerox Pagis SE

Symptom:
Scanning a document containing both text and photo images (e.g. magazine article) appears with the non-text part of the image doubled and overlapped.

Environment:

• Windows 95 or Windows NT
• Xerox Pagis SE version 1.0
• Scanner Setup version 1.02 or later.

Problem Recreation:

1. The document contains both text and photo images (e.g. magazine article) where the non-text image, photo is not closely surrounded by text.
2. Select "SCAN" from the Pagis Scan Tool.
3. The non-text part of the image will appear doubled and overlapped.

Temporary Solution:
None Available.

Permanent Solution:
Install the scanner update titled "IBM Scanner Update Version P002" that was provided with the IBM Color Flatbed Scanner. The file can be obtained by clicking here - . The scanner update can also be obtained from the IBM BBS at 1-919-517-0001 (enter country code).

Verification:
The scanner update replaces the file, "XSCAN32.DAT". To verify that the update has been installed correctly, check the size and date of the file as follows:
