Aptiva - How to uninstall and re-install Media Player using "Add/Remove Programs" in Windows 95

To Uninstall:
1. Click on "Start", click on "Settings", and click on "Control Panel".
2. In the "Control Panel" window, double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
3. In the "Add/Remove Programs" window, click on the "Windows Setup" tab. Scroll down to the "Multimedia" entry and double-click on it. A window will open with several applications listed. Scroll down to the "Media Player" entry. Your screen will look similar to Figure # 1. Remove the check mark by clicking on it. Click "OK" to close the window.
4. On the next window click on "Apply". A box may pop up that says it is copying files and/or creating short cuts. When the files have finished copying, click on "OK", this will bring you back to "Control Panel". Close "Control Panel" and then reboot the system for changes to take effect.

To Install:
1. Go to the "Windows Setup" screen mentioned above. Scroll down to "Multimedia", then find "Media Player", and click on the box to put a check in it. Click "OK" and on the next window click "Apply".
2. Again, some files will be copied. When the copying has finished, click "OK", and then close "Control Panel" by clicking the "X" in the upper right hand corner.
3. Reboot the system for changes to take effect.
