001 - START
1. Use the Aptiva Installer to re-install the Rapid Access keyboard drivers.
2. Restart the system. If the problem remains, continue with step 002.
002 -
1ò Power off system unit and ensure the keyboard plug is connected properly.
003 -
1ò Insert the diagnostics diskette into the diskette drive and power on the system unit.
2ò Select Interactive Tests menu, then execute Keyboard test.
004 - DOES THE KEYBOARD FUNCTION CORRECTLY? (YES, READ AHEAD. NO, GO TO STEP 005.)
1ò Keyboard is functioning normally.
2ò End.
005 - ARE THERE ANY STUCK KEYS OR ANY GRIME IN THE GAP OF KEYCAPS? (YES, READ AHEAD. NO, GO TO STEP 006.)
1ò Power off the system unit. Carefully remove the grime and solve the stuck keys problem.
2ò Go to step 002.
006 - ARE THERE ANY BROKEN PINS IN THE KEYBOARD PLUG? (YES, GO TO STEP 007. NO, READ AHEAD.)
1ò Try with a known good keyboard.
007 - DOES THE ERROR SYMPTOM STILL REMAIN? (YES, READ AHEAD. NO, GO TO STEP 007.)
1ò Replace the system board.
2ò End.
008 -
1ò Replace the keyboard.
2ò End.
