Aptiva - Setting up a PS/1 modem for Works 3.0

Some of you are having difficulty using the Communication module in MS Works for Windows 3.0 and most problems result in the modem's initialization string not being set correctly. If you have a modem in your machine that was included in the original PS/1 configuration, then use the following initialization string to make your modem work correctly:
AT&F&C1&D2S7=90S0=0
To set this up, do the following:
1. In the MS Works opening screen, select Communication to open the communications module.
2. From the menu, choose Settings, then Modem. In this dialog box, make sure that you have the correct COM port selected and then select Advanced from the box.
3. You will be given a modem name which you can change to whatever you want (PS/1 Modem). Now under the commands, look for the initialize command and then enter the above initialization string.
4. Click OK to save the configuration.
