Description
The Video Features Diskette IV for OS/2 provides drivers to:
- Improve the drawing performance on the display,
- Provide a resolution up to 1600x1200 for a CRT monitor,
- Provide various color depths: 256, 64K, and 16M for a CRT monitor.

The followi ng models are supported:
- ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, 770X, 770Z

NOTE: If you are installing the Video Features IV version 1.04 or later for OS/2 to the ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, you need to update the system BIOS to version 1.27 or later. Otherwise you can not select any screen resolutions from the OS/2 System Setting even after the display driver installation.

NOTE: This driver has been repackaged into a self-extracting zip file. All files will now be extracted to your hard drive.

NOTE: If you are installing the Video Features IV version 1.04 or later for OS/2 to the ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, you need to update the system BIOS to version 1.27 or later. Installation Guide
Preparation
(To extract the drivers, follow these procedures:)
1. Download VFTPDOS2.EXE to your hard drive and run it. This is a self-extracting ZIP containing the following files:
-INSTALVI.BAT
-LICENSE.TXT
-VFTPOS2.SXZ
-VFTPDOS2.TXT

2. Run INSTALVI.BAT to place all the data files on your system.
NOTE: This only completes the extraction process. To install the driver, follow the instructions below.

If you are reinstalling the display driver, do the following procedure to set the system back to VGA mode. If the system is already in VGA mode, skip to the <installation> section.

vga
1. Turn on the computer and start OS/2.
2. When a small white box appears in the upper left corner of the screen, press Alt+F1.
3. When the Recovery Choices screen appears:
- In Warp Version 3: press V.
- In Warp Version 4: press F3.
4. Shut down OS/2 after the VGA driver is installed.
5. Turn off the computer.

Installation
1. Turn on the computer and start OS/2.
2. Set the display device to LCD only.
3. Open an OS/2 window or a full-screen command prompt.
4. Change to the drive and directory where the ThinkPad Video Features IV for OS/2 resides.
Default path is C:\DRIVERS\OS2\VIDEO\
5. Type INSTALL at the command prompt and press Enter.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen.
7. After the installation is complete, shut down OS/2, and restart the computer.

- (Fix) The screen corrupts with 16M colors when the hotpoint of mouse pointer is set to bottom and moving the mouse pointer to the top of the screen.
- (Fix) DPI(dots per inch) cannot be customized in a WIN-OS/2 session.

- (New) Support for ThinkPad 770Z.
- (Fix) The Installation fails if there are 512 characters or more in a line of the CONFIG.SYS file.
- (Fix) WIN-OS/2 font files remain at the root directory of the boot drive as excess files after the installation.

National Language Support
Only some drivers will be available in other languages. If you do not see a listing like this for additional languages, then that driver is available in English only. The English driver will work in ALL countries.
