Aptiva - Re-powering after using Recovery CD/disks

Applicable to: World-Wide

Symptom:
Some countries have been experiencing high incidents of power supply failures caused by customers changing the voltage selector switch. This is a direct result of unclear translation on the recovery CD. The confusion occurs when the customer is asked to power off the system unit when the recovery is complete. Poor translation directs the customer to power off the machine from the rear of the system unit.

- UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THE RED SLIDER SWITCH AT THE REAR OF THE MACHINE BE CHANGED.

All power on/off operations should be performed via the white on/off
switch at the front of the system unit.

Fix:
Development have been informed of the confusion and this will be used as a lessons learned for follow-on products and any updates to the current recovery CD.
