Aptiva - Aptiva M91 and Matrox Millennium drivers

Applicable to: United States

The Aptiva M91 has a Matrox Millennium graphics card pre-installed with 4MB of RAM on the card. The drivers for the card are contained on the hard drive of the computer. However, the latest revision of the Matrox drivers is not on the CD-ROM of pre-installed software.

This has to be installed separately. Once installed, the DISPLAY controller on the Windows setup folder has a new section for setting up the Matrox drivers. This section enables all the advanced graphics acceleration features and enables the virtual desktop.

It is recommended to back up the Matrox directory prior to performing an FDISK, format, and restore.

NOTE: The recovery CD does not contain the C:\Matrox directory. Therefore, you will need to save the Matrox directory to a diskette (It will all fit on a 1.44 MB floppy) before you decide to FDISK, format, and restore. If you do not save the Matrox directory, it will not be unzipped from the CD and the system will produce DDC errors. A temporary work around for this problem would be to turn off the DDC on the monitor.

If you install OS/2 on your system, you will need need to obtain OS/2 drivers for the Matrox card. They are available by double clicking here. -->
