MM50 & MM70 monitors - How to ensure correct volume settings
Applicable to: World-Wide
The MM50 and MM70 multimedia monitors incorporate the speakers, microphone, and volume controls directly into the monitor. This document provides instructions on verifying that these controls are configured properly for audio playback. If the monitor's volume is set too high, a feedback hum or noise can occur over the speakers.
1. Press the "Mute" button on the front of the monitor. A blue "Sound Status" window will appear.
2. If the "Sound Status" box says "Sound On", then the sound is not muted (this is the correct setting for audio playback). If the box says "Sound Mute" then the sound is now muted. Press the "Mute" button again, this will turn the muting back off.
3. Press the "Menu" button on the front of the monitor. A blue menu will appear on the screen.
4. Press the "+" button on the monitor until the menu entry labeled "Volume" is highlighted. Press the "Select" button.
5. A blue volume slider will appear on the screen. Press the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the volume level up or down. If you hear feedback from the speakers, you have adjusted the volume level too high. Use the "-" button to adjust the volume down until you can no longer hear the feedback. The system should work properly now with no feedback over the speakers.
