Aptiva - Wake Up problem with Communication Center Wake Up on Ring

Applicable to: United States

The Wake-on-Ring feature will only work reliably with Windows 95 if you disable the shutdown feature and only use the standby feature. This will ensure that the system wakes up quickly enough to receive a fax or message. Otherwise, the fax on the other end may 'Time-out' before the computer is prepared to receive the fax.

To Adjust these settings:

Windows 95 Or Warp:
[In Windows 3.11, skip to Aptivaware]

1.) Click on "Start"
2.) Click on "Programs"
3.) Click on "Aptivaware"
4.) Click on "Rapid Resume Manager"
5.) Click on "Rapid Resume"
6.) Click on "Set Options"
7.) Set the time limit to "OFF"

NOTE: If you intend to use the computer as an answering machine, fax, or Bulletin Board the time should be set to OFF! This is so the computer will power up with enough time to receive the call!

8.) Click on "OK"
9.) Click on "OK" again
10.) Click on "Standby"
11.) Click on the length of time you wish the computer to wait before it enters a low energy power state.
12.) Click on "OK" and this will end the procedure
