TP 380,385,560X,770 - Installing audio driver under OS/2 Warp
Applicable to: World-Wide
To install the audio support for a ThinkPad 380, 385, 560X or 770 just follow these simple instructions:
1) Insert the Audio Features Disk for OS/2 (click here to obtain the diskette -) into drive A:
2) Using the Multimedia Application Install object from the Install/Remove folder in the System Setup folder, direct the source drive and path to the A:.
3) Select both Crystal Audio and IBM OPL3 FM MIDI Synthesis. Click OK and proceed with the installation. After the installation completes, shutdown and re-boot the system. Verify that the following lines were installed in CONFIG.SYS:
BASEDEV=CWCONFIG.SYS /P:534 /I:5 /D:1,0 /SB:220 /M:NONE /FM:388 /J:NONE /CD:NONE
DEVICE=x:\MMOS2\CWAUDIO.SYS /N:BSAUD1$ /X1:8 /X2:16 /L:0 /LCAPT:MX
DEVICE=x:\MMOS2\CWVAUDIO.SYS BSAUD1$.SYS
DEVICE=x:\MMOS2\OPL3.SYS /P:388 /N:OPL31$
where x is the drive in which OS/2 Warp is installed. This installation will also enable audio support in WINOS2 sessions as well. Also, here is the line the driver installation adds to the Autoexec.bat (in the root directory) for DOS and Win-OS/2 support:
@SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4
4) Installation should be complete.
