TP 770 - How to configure the CNF Cardport 6X,10X, 20X CD-ROM Drive with Windows 95

SYMPTOM:
Procedures on how to install the CNF 6X, 10X, and 20X CD-ROM Drive on a ThinkPad 770 running Windows 95.
CONFIGURATION:
IBM ThinkPad 770 running Windows 95 and the CNF Cardport 6X CD-ROM Drive(PCMCIA)
SOLUTION:
1. Plug in PCMCIA interface card
2. Card Wizard will pop up and try to configure the card.
3. Select the radio button for CardSoft mode and select OK. CardWizard will configure the card in CardSoft mode.
4. In the CardWizard utility, select the slot with the card installed, right click on that slot, and select properties, the drivers tab, and then change driver. Select use Plug and Play. When prompted, remove the card.
5. Reinsert the card, insert the driver diskette that came with the CD ROM drive in drive A:, select OK, then finish.
(If no driver is found in Update Device Driver Wizard, select Other Locations and enter A:\Win95)
6. The card should now be configured in Plug and Play mode and the CD ROM icon should appear in the My Computer group.
