Aptiva - How to install a printer driver in Windows 3.1
Applicable to: World-Wide
Most printer drivers provided with Windows work for more than one printer model. This means that you must install and configure the settings for your specific printer model.
Before you try to print, complete the steps in the following installation procedure:
1) Choose the Printers icon from Control Panel. (Control Panel is located in the Main Group of Program Manager.)
2) Choose Add from the Printers dialog box.
3) The List Of Printers box will appear. Click once on the name of the printer to be installed and then click on Install.
4) If you are installing a printer driver that is pre-loaded on the system, it will install automatically; otherwise, you will be prompted for a diskette. Follow the screen prompts if you are loading the driver from a diskette and choose OK.
5) The printer driver that you have installed will be highlighted in the Installed Printers box. Choose Setup and make the proper selections. Click on OK.
6) Choose Connect and make the proper selection for the printer port. Click on OK.
7) Click on Set As Default Printer. The printer just chosen will appear as the default printer. Click on Close.
