Aptiva - Unable to extract BIOS diskette in Windows NT
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
When extracting a BIOS diskette (such as IDFLASH.EXE) on a machine running Windows NT, an error message appears. This error message states that the file PMGPI.DLL cannot be found.
Solution:
Extract the BIOS diskette on a system which is loaded with DOS, Windows 3.X, Windows 9X or OS/2.
Explanation:
The program used to make the diskette self-extracting does not support Windows NT. This program does support all operating systems which were preloaded on Aptiva systems that require BIOS updates.
Note: Not all Aptiva systems have a BIOS update available. Some Aptiva systems may not require a BIOS update.
