PS/1-Aptiva - What is the JOIN command?
Applicable to: World-Wide
The JOIN command logically creates a single directory structure by connecting one disk drive to a subdirectory of another disk drive. If you try to refer to a drive that has been JOINed, the system will display and error message. Sometimes, the JOIN command can cause error messages in your applications. If this happens, discontinue the use of the JOIN command.
The following commands do not work with drives joined by the JOIN command.
ASSIGN DISKCOPY LABLEL SYS
CHKDSK FDISK RECOVER UNDELETE
DISKCOMP FORMAT RESTORE
The JOIN command cannot be used on a drive that has been compressed or on the resultant compressed host drive. If you attempt to use this command on a compressed drive or related host drive, then an error message is displayed.
