Aptiva - 2140/2142 Considerations - IBM Antivirus

Unknown password under "Setup" options. Detail: If you click on "SETUP", then "PASSWORD", it prompts you for a password. There are no indications what this password may be and it is not customizable by the user. Answer / Workaround: This password is setup by the IBMAV programmers to allow administrators and programmers into the 'code'. This function has no purpose for the customer and could not be removed. Hitting F1 causes illegal operation error. Detail: Pressing "F1" for help within the Antivirus Log file Help screen will cause an "Illegal Operation" (WINHLP32 caused an invalid page fault in module 'WINHLP32.EXE' at 0157:0040lcf5*) To ReCreate error: Open antivirus, select logs--> current log, click on the HELP Button, press the F1 key, then cancel. Answer / Workaround: No workaround for this. Issue is deferred to next program. Severity: 3 Preload(s): Both

IBM AV runs a scan immediately after Aptivaize and slows system performance. Detail: By default IBM AV will run automatically after install to analyze the system. Answer / Workaround: This could not be changed. Severity: 4 Preload(s): Both

AV doesn't have a leap year option. Detail: When you try to setup AV to run a check, it doesn't give you an option to set it up to run on Feburary 29th even if the year on the system clock is a leap year. Answer / Workaround: Virus scan will need to be run manually on Feb 29th. Will be addressed in future version. Severity: 4 Preload(s): Both
