How to change the speed of the scanning from 5 to 1, 2, 3, or 4 how can he do it.
Solution:
The software supplied does not offer the opportunity for the end user to change the speed. The slower the scan speed the better the resolution of the scanned image. The option is only available for scanners that have buffering ability on the scanner. This allows some of the image to be stored in REM. The IBM scanners do not offer this buffering ability.
Issue:
Will the scanners work on 220 volts.
Solution:
The scanners have a auto-sensing power supply that will work on either 110 volts or 220 volts.

Solution:
Make sure the paper is inserted evenly, otherwise, the scanner is defective is defective return the unit as defective.
Issue:
Is the scanner a flat bed scanner or a sheet-feed scanner?
Solution:
A flatbed scanner is a scanner that scans from an image that was set on the bed. The bed determines the maximum size of the scan. Our scanner is a sheet-feed scanner that pulls in the paper with rollers. The length of the scan is determined by the driver.
Issue:

Solution:
1. The Files = and Buffers = statements in the CONFIG.SYS must both equal or be greater than 30.
2. The system must be rebootcd after installing the software and after making any changes in the CONFIG.SYS file to load the new statements and the new device drivers that were added. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file to read Files=30 Buffers=30. Then reboot the system.
Issue:
How do I change the DPI?
Solution:
In the software are options for the changing of the DPI.

Solution:
Manually copy the file from the diskette to the C:\ Windows directory and replace the one that is there.
Issue:
When attempting to scan the error message "Can not create cache file" is returned.
Solution:
The problem is the customer does not have enough hard drive space available for the image they wish to scan. This can be determined true by looking at the Twain driver Information's section. It gives a report of available "Disk Space" and the current settings "Image Size".
Issue:
The install program will not run. I have an EGA, CGA or a Monochrome monitor.
Solution:
The installation program requires that the installer have a 100% compatible Microsoft mouse and a VGA monitor. The installation program is written specifically for a VGA monitor.

The manual states the power light will go out but this light stays on constantly.
Solution:
The scanners with a separate power cord will go out, but the units that have the power supplied via the interface card will not have the power light go out.
Issue:
When attempting to scan an error occurs "Can not create cache file and cashe directory".
Solution:
The image size is larger than the available disk space. The required space and the available space is displayed in the Twain driver window when scanning.
Issue:
The Dell Pentium system scans very slow no matter what DPI or scan.
Solution:
The Dell Pentium system has a function in the system BIOS that changes it from a 66MHz to most compatible. If you select most compatible it will pre-scan properly and scan properly.
Issue:
The installation fails when attempting to install the PPLE. It returns the error can not find TWAIN.DLL.
Solution:
Start Windows and install PPLE first then exit windows and install the Installation disk. The TWAIN.DLL might be on the wrong disk.

Solution:
Choose EFFECTS choose SIZE and then increase or decrease the height and width. When done, choose PROCESS and it will process the image to the given height and width.
Issue:
What is the maximum scanning size of the PPLE?
Solution:
The Scanner driver (SCANDEVC.SYS) in PPLE supports 8.5 *I 1. The older (ezoption.ds) Twain driver will only support 8.5*11 so we can ship the new updated driver to the customer if he requests it. The new Easy Options (ezoption.ds) Twain driver will support 8.5 * 14.
Issue:
Where can I purchase more interface cards for the unit so that I may use it on more than one machine.

Solution:
When the scanners driver windows comes up on the sceen, place a check in the box marked INVERSE and it will then scan a negative image.
Issue:
How do I save or export the scanned images, and what file Images does PPLE save as? How do I change the path PPLE saves the files to?
Solution:
Choose FILE and choose SAVE AS. This brings up the "save image file" window. This window allows you to change the path the file will save to. It allows you to change the Image type [Grayscale, Line art, Scattered, Mini color, Full color]. It allows you to change the file format [Tiff, Targa, GIF, BMP, PCX, ESP, Dcs(ESP), JPEG]
Issue:
The installation quit and returned an error 'Cannot find TWAIN.DLL Driver.'
Solution:
The early install disk did this. Start windows, install PPLE then exit windows and start the scanner "installation over again. This will install the TWAIN.DLL driver and enable the installation to be Completed.
Issue:
The Box states OCR software is included and there is not any in the box.
Solution:
The early boxes did not ship with the OCR. Since the packaging center has corrected this problem, if the customer has received a package missing the software, priority mail will be used to ship missing software.
Issue:
Thee scanner will not scan in color.
Solution:
Ensure that the SCANDEVC.SYS driver is loaded in the CONFIG.SYS and not the SCANDEVG.SYS. Verify that the customer has the scan mode in true color.
Issue:
The customer gets a "701 out of memory" error when attempting to process the OCR he scanned in Calera. Error "Not enough memory to run executable."
Solution:
The Calera\bin is not installed properly in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. The C:\Calera\Bin must be one of the first 3 statements in the Path statement in the AUTOEXEC.BAT.
Issue:
Is Wordscan V. 1.1 Compatible with Qemm7.
Solution:
Qemm7 uses its own version of HIMEM.SYS and Calera's Wordscan will not function if the CONFIG.SYS does not load the HIMEM.SYS.
