Cordless Mouse - Hardware installation

Applicable to: World-Wide

Step 1. Installing the Batteries.
1. Press down on the cover in the direction of the open arrow.
2. Remove the cover.
3. Insert the batteries in the battery compartment as shown in the diagram.
4. Carefully slide the cover forward, in the opposite direction of its open arrows and then snap it down to lock it in place.

When replacing the batteries, use only AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix batteries of different types. When the mouse is not used for long period of time, remove the batteries and store them in a dry place at room temperature.

Step 2. Connecting the Receiver.
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Connect the receiver cable connector to the computer PC mouse port.
3. On the receiver, slide the receiver switch to the one-mouse icon. This is the normal operating position of the switch with the mouse attached to the computer.
4. Position the receiver on its flat side, with no large metal objects between it and the mouse. The mouse and receiver work best on non-metallic surfaces.

Step 3. Verifying the Channel Setting and Changing the Channel.
1 - Receiver Switch
2 - Receiver Activity Light
3 - Channel Button
4 - Programming Light

1. Press the channel button on the mouse until the receiver activity light blinks to indicate communication between the receiver and the mouse.
2. Press and immediately release the channel button on the back of the mouse; the programming light on the mouse will blink.
3. Count the blinks. The number of blinks indicates the current channel. For example, three blinks means Channel 3.
4. If there is another pointing or different radio device in your work area using the same channel, change the channel as follows:
a. Turn your computer on with the receiver still connected.
b. Press and immediately release the channel button on the mouse. The programming light emits the number of blinks (from one to four) that indicates the channel number (from one to four) the receiver is using.
c. Move the receiver switch to the one-mouse icon and then all the way in the opposite direction to the two-mouse icon and then back to the one-mouse icon (the normal operating position for the mouse).
d. Press the channel button on the mouse until the green receiver light blinks rapidly to indicated that the channel has changed, and then immediately release the channel button.
e. Repeat #2 (press and immediately release the channel button) and #3 (count the blinks) to determine the channel number and verify that it is now different.
