Description
Use for Aptiva 21xx-Mxx systems that have been upgraded from Windows 3.11 / OS/2 Warp to Windows 95 using the IBM Windows 95 Upgrade Kit (55H7247 & 42H2531). Running this file will create a diskette which will correct certain issues caused by upgrading an Aptiva Mxx to Windows 95 using the IBM Upgrade Kit. These issues include: Missing icons in Device Manager, Online Housecall not working properly, Online Services (AOL, Prodigy, etc) not working properly. Below is more information on these updates:
1. Add missing icons to Device Manager that were not added during an upgrade to Windows 95. The icons added in Device Manager will be:
Modem
MWAVEDSP
Network Adapters
Sound Video and Game Controllers.
2. Update Online HouseCall shortcuts to assure proper operation.
3. Update Online Services to assure proper operation. When this update is complete the user will have all the necessary devices loaded into their Device Manager.

This update contains the following files: HWDETECT.EXE, DEVINST.INI, UPDATE.BAT, SUPPORT.INI, ONLINE.INI, readme.txt. To download the file, read the following:
1. Click on the file link.
2. Pick OK to copy file to your local disk.
3. Save as file name, "W95UPFIX.EXE" and select drive "C" (Or whichever drive you would like to save the file to). Choose OK. This will download the file to your hard disk.
4. At a DOS or OS/2 prompt type "W95UPFIX". This command will explode the file from the hard drive to a floppy disk. Follow the prompts and insert a floppy disk into drive A. Installation instructions can be found in the README.TXT file on the diskette once it is created. You may view the README.TXT file by using a text editor, i.e. type "e a:\readme.txt" at a C:\ prompt.
