Aptiva - How to determine if DirectX 5 is installed

To determine if you have DirectX 5 installed, go to the directory C:\Program Files\DirectX\Setup and run the program DxTool.
This returns the information : "DirectX 5 is installed" in a clear unambigous statement.
Note: Another program in the same directory is DxInformation which reports the level of the components as version 4.00.xxxxxxx and doesn't mention DirectX 3 or DirectX5. Results from this program or the version numbers of the components is the probable source of confusion and while useful to Technical Support causes customer confusion.
