IBM PC330/PC350 (Type 6577, 6587) - LCCM Scan process shuts down system

Applicable to: World-Wide

SYMPTOM:
PC 330/350 with WOL (Wake on Lan) PCI Token Ring card at flash level PX12B7 will wake and start the scan process with LCCM, then shut down without scanning client information to the server.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

• System is PC330 or PC350 machine type 6577 or 6587.
• IBM PCI 16/4 Token Ring adapter is in top slot.
• Customer is running a version of LCCM lower than 2.5.
  

• Use a networked boot disk (such as Remote Unattended Install disk) to load DOS with network support.
• Run the program SCANNT.EXE (included and used by the LCCM scan process).
• The system will suddenly shut down.

TEMPORARY WORKAROUND:
Move TR adapter to lower slot.

FIX:
Update LCCM (Lan Client Control Manager) to version 2.5 or higher.
