28.8/14.4 PCMCIA Data/Fax Modem w/Integrated DAA - Installation and support information for Windows NT

There is now Windows NT support for the PCMCIA 28.8/14.4 Data/Fax Modem that requires no code change.

1. From the Windows NT desktop, Shutdown the system and power off.
2. Insert the card.

Note: Windows NT should automatically detect the presence of the 33.6 Modem PC Card when it is inserted into the PCMCIA slot.

3. Bring up Windows NT.
4. Double-Click "My computer".
5. Double-Click "Control Panel".
6. Double-Click "PCMCIA".
7. A window displaying the card name should appear.
8. Double-Click "PCMCIA 33.6/14.4 Modem".
9. Note the COM port this modem is mapped to for use during Modem installation.

Note: After Windows NT has detected the 33.6 Modem PC Card you will need to install a new modem.

10. From the Windows NT desktop, Double-Click "My Computer".
11. Double-Click "Control Panel".
12. Double-Click "Modems".
13. Select the "Add.." tab.
14. Select "don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list".
15. Click next.
16. Select the "Have disk" tab.
17. Insert the product diskette into your diskette drive.
18. Ensure that drive selection (A:) is correct.
19. Click "OK".
20. Select the "IBM PCMCIA 33.6+14.4 Data+Fax Modem".
21. Click next.
22. Select the port your modem card is using.
23. Use the port you noted from above in Inserting card.
24. Click next.
25. Fill in your location information.
26. Click next.
27. Select "Finish" tab.

This completes successful installation of the 33.6 Modem PC Card. For further configuration of protocol stacks, modem application programs, and so on, please refer to the documentation supplied by the application vendor.
