General Information
A USB hub is a device that expands a single USB connection, often found at the rear of newer PC systems, so that a number of USB-enabled devices can be attached simultaneously to the PC. The single USB connection (the upstream port) is attached to the USB port on the PC, either directly, or perhaps via another hub. The USB devices are connected to the downstream ports. The USB hub allows USB devices to be connected to a unit conveniently located on the desktop, rather than to the PC system which may be placed under a desk or other less accessible location.
