Aptiva - JP-1000 Printers
Applicable to: United States
Symptom:
Radio Shack has been providing a Tandy JP-1000 printer with the purchase of Aptiva computers. Tandy has not provided drivers for these printers.
SOLUTION:
Operating System: OS/2: Not supported
Windows 95: For Windows 95 there are some recommended options; see below.
Option 1:
A) Go to the Setup Utility, Input/Output Ports, and change the Parallel Port Mode to PS/2 bi-directional. B) In Windows 95 go to My Computer, Printers, Add Printer, use the Printer Install Wizard and choose the Epson AP-5000 ESC/P 2 driver.
Option 2:
A) In Windows 95 go to My Computer, Printers, Add Printer, use the Printer Install Wizard and choose the Olivetti JP-360 driver.
DOS/Windows: In Windows 3.11 go to Main, Control Panel, Printers, choose Install and pick the HP 500/500c click on Add, then Close. Note: You will not get full functionality with this emulation.
