Server Option - Driver version needed to recognize ARCserve Changer
Applicable to: World-Wide
Systems Affected: PC Server 325 and 330, NetFinity 3500 and 7000
Operating System Version: NetWare 4.11
Problem:
When installing the ARCserve Changer option 3.0 or 3.1 for the IBM 24/48 Autoloader the following error occurs:
Cheyenne Changer Option v3.0 Setup
Setup Aborted!
A Changer is not attached to the server. The hardware must be configured at the server prior to installing the Changer Option.
Solution:
The on-board Adaptec controller with certain versions of AIC7870.DSK will not recognize the Changer portion of the IBM 24/48 Autoloader. Replace AIC7870.DSK with the Adaptec HAM driver AHA2940.HAM which is available from Novell's web site: http://developer.novell.com/devres/sas/driver/ddrivers.htm#Adaptec
Load the driver as follows:
1) Enable multi LUN support in Adaptec configuration.
2) Add the following to the STARTUP.NCF:
Load AHA2940.HAM slot=10003 lun_enable=ff
3) Add the following to the AUTOEXEC.NCF before ASTART6.NCF:
Load NWASPI
4) Apply the latest NetWare 4.11 Service Pack
