Aptiva - Caesar II DOS hardware requirements
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
CAESAR II Known Quirks and Solutions
Problem Isolation Aid:
None
Fix:
1. The install GPFs when installing on a system with which does not have enough free hard disk space.
2. The Sierra CPU test, used with the US released CDs, fails when used on a system with the Cyrix M1 processor.
3. Caesar II is set to run in DOS mode. It is recommended that users play Caesar II in DOS mode only.
4. When installing Caesar II via the Aptiva Installer or via running the Setup program from the Caesar II CD the sound configuration utility is not started after the install is completed. To configure sound for Caesar II users must run the Caesar II sound configuration utility. After installing Caesar II an icon is added to the Sierra Program Folder called Caesar II Set Sound. This icon is used to run the sound configuration utility. This program is set to run in DOS mode. Users must match their Caesar II sound settings to that of Mwave's sound settings. Information about setting Mwave's DOS mode sound configuration is located in the "How Do I" section of the Aptiva Helper. Information about DOS games sound configuration utilities is located in the "How Do I" section of the Aptiva Helper.
