Applicable to: United States

All PS/1 486SX and 486DX Models use 30 pin SIMMS (memory modules). These systems can accommodate a maximum of 32MB.

The PS/1 486SX 2133 *43, *50, and *53 and 2155 *44 and *54 come standard with 4MB of SIMM memory (occupying 4 of the 8 available SIMM sockets). SIMMS must be installed in GROUPS OF 4 IDENTICAL SIMMS that are either 1MB or 4MB in capacity. The PS/1 486DX 2155 *76, *78, and S75 comes standard with 8MB of SIMM memory (occupying all 8 available SIMM sockets). SIMMS must be installed in GROUPS OF 4 IDENTICAL SIMMS that are either 1MB or 4MB in capacity. Therefore, 4 of the 8 SIMMS MUST BE REMOVED before installing additional memory!

To obtain additional 30-pin SIMMS for the PS/1 486SX and 486DX Models, you can visit your local computer hardware dealer or reference a computer hardware publication.
