TP 770/E/ED - Enabling the external video port
Applicable to: World-Wide
Question:
My external monitor port is not functioning, why?
Answer:
Make sure that the "Video Out Port (TV Out)" is disabled. If it is enabled, the external-display jack will not be active and the TV output jack will be active instead.
Additional Information:
To check and change this setting, start the ThinkPad Configuration Program. Select the "Enhanced Video/ MPEG" icon. The first setting is Video out port (TV out). Choose "Disable" to use an external monitor (attached to the 15 pin external-display port). A message will be displayed, press OK. If the LCD screen turns black, simply press FN+F7 to switch the LCD back on. Choose OK to close the Enhanced Video/MPEG window.
