Aptiva - Tips for keyboard shortcuts in Windows 95 or 98

Most of the time the mouse is the quickest way to navigate Windows. However, there are many time using keys are quicker. Below outlines a few of the major combinations.
1. Press <F5> to refresh the contents of the current window. This is very handy if you've just created a new file or folder, because Windows 95 or 98 places new entries at the end of the list by default.
2. <Backspace> goes up the directory tree to the parent of the current folder.
3. <F3> opens the 'Find' command in the current folder.
4. <Shift><F10> key combination brings up the shortcut menu for the selected object, same as if you had right-clicked.
5. <Ctrl><X> will cut, <Ctrl><C> will copy, and <Ctrl><V> will paste files.
6. <Ctrl><Z> un-does the last re-name, delete, copy, or move. Windows 95 or 98 can undo up to three shell operations.
7. <Ctrl><Esc> brings up the 'Start menu'. Press 'R' to open the Run dialog box, then enter a path name (like C:\WINDOWS) to open that folder window instantly.
